keep calm...
Party preparation is in full swing. I have so much left to do in the next 26 hours. I'm sorry I haven't been around bloglandia. It seems the moment I open my eyes in the morning it is go, go, go. If you've been with me long you'll know that I don't do well under go, go, go circumstances. I've reached my limit and am just going to try to squeeze by as best I can until after my party tomorrow night. Then Friday I can sit all day and relax and play catch-up with everyone (plus get my party post ready).
Saturday I can hop on my broom and fly around to visit all the tea parties and that will be quite relaxing, I'm sure.
I'm always so excited to join in things like this and then at the last minute I'm wishing I hadn't. Not that I don't enjoy it! Maybe I do not plan or organize my buildup time very well. I thought I had, but then I'll add a little something that I need to bake, or a little something that I need to craft. Or wait, maybe I should have this as well as that. I get very carried away. But...
(yes, that third photo shows the current state of my kitchen. I just had to step away and sit for a while and I'd been wanting to post here so...)
In not party news, I finally acquired a new pair of walking shoes. My old ones had rubbed a horrible blister on my heel and had become very uncomfortable to walk in. I've enjoyed watching the morning frost turn to a light fog as the sun hits it in the mornings.
I found that lovely mug while out shopping on Monday. As I'm quite fond of most all things British I just had to have it. I'm also muttering that under my breath as I go through this week. :-)
Just as I'm ready for cold weather, the temperatures start to rise again. We are in the mid 70's now and higher tomorrow. Well, whenever the cold does come back, I'll be ready to cozy up to the warm fireplace.
Oh - a question for my knitting friends. The other night, I accidentally knocked over a mug (yes, that one up there) of pomegranate juice in my knitting basket. Yes, I know. Anywho, my shrug was in the basket as well as the crazy crochet blanket and some extra yarn. I've washed the basket and its liner and have patted dry the yarn. I've put the excess yarns in a ziplock thinking I can wash them at some point.
Here's my question... how do I handle the shrug and the blanket? I used a paper towel to pat them dry and have let them sit. Can I just go on knitting/crocheting until done and then wash them? I can't tell you how long I cried over this episode. I was so very upset. I really don't want to have to start that shrug over. Luckily my scoreboard project was in another bag on the other side of my chair and not affected.
Well, I guess that is all for today. I will be back on Saturday for the tea party. I hope you can join me?
thanks for stopping by,
love & blessings

Wow! That first photo is so pretty. I also loved the sentence on how you watch the frost turn to fog. Wow. That's sad you spilt on your knitting; I wish I knew. Ask Maya at Little Treasures, she posts often. She crochets, but the advice probably applies if she knows. I'm so looking forward visiting all the parties. It is a lot of work, and I find so little time in the day, and know I should of started sooner. xoxo Su
Cool mug! I'm a bit of an Anglophile myself.
I am so sorry about your shrug! I hope everything works out! I have been very bad with blogging for the past two years, so I understand everything you are saying! Just breath and keep calm ;o)
