a really good day
These beauties were found at the grocers this morning. The yellow mums are so lovely that I decided I needed more fresh flowers in my home. These are on the kitchen table so I get to enjoy them often.
Please excuse the crappy photo, I was tired, and didn't pay much attention when I snapped the photo. This is the composter that my brother and sister in law gave me at the holidays. It was finally nice enough outside and I had enough energy to work on it. I'm very excited. It even came with a little pamphlet explaining how composting works and how to get the most of your composter. :)
Before I went to the grocers this morning, I went to a local big box home improvement store looking for a seed starting tray. I found just what I was after, plus a whole lot more! I can't wait to plant those dahlias as well as the other things I found.
I spent several hours working in the gardens. Doing a little preemptive weeding and ordering of borders, as well as picking up broken limbs. While I was out there I found a few surprises...
And I'm finishing up the evening with a little laundry and this...
a few apple cinnamon and a few blueberry (they came from a packet not homemade - but that is okay). This will give me a nice little bit of breakfast for the week.
Tomorrow begins another week of work, but I have something really wonderful to look forward to at the end of the week. This will hopefully motivate me to persevere - remember that? - through the week.
I hope you have enjoyed this lovely spring-ish day and have a wonderful week ahead.

insights
This lovely pot of spring mums refused to let me leave the grocers when I went in yesterday to pick up some lunch. I must have walked past them five or six times trying to ignore them, but they wouldn't stop screaming for me to take them home with me. So, I gave in. They do look lovely and are quite cheerful.
Today was spent in a workshop that dealt with women's spirituality/psychology and the Wheel of the Year. It was... well, I really just don't have the words to describe it.
I need time to process what I've experienced today, take it all in and figure out how it can impact my life. Maybe once I've done that I'll be able to share more about it here.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

seeking good
Feeling a bit better today, migraine wise, but still dealing with adjustments to medications. Today was a day to up the dosage and about 5 hours after taking it was feeling very sick and loopy. It was either that or too much sugar. Since I can't be sure, I'm going to see how I am tomorrow before I call the doctor and inquire as to whether or not I should expect such reactions.
I haven't had much to say, just trying to focus on getting through work each day and any other obligations that I might have. I have been keeping up with my blog reading and have found a few new blogs that I really like. I even came across the "Pen Pal Project" (link can be found on the right hand sidebar) hosted by Indie Fixx and I signed up right away. It is just what it sounds like, finding people to be pen pals with and bringing back old fashioned snail mail. I really miss getting letters and cards in the mail and am looking forward to making new friendships in an old fashioned kind of way. :)
If you are interested in signing up, click on the picture and it will take you to the blog post that started it all. And if any of my readers here would like to correspond via snail mail, I'd be open to that, just send me via email.
Another blog that I am very fond of is Posy. She is also having some medical issues right now and has been miserable for a while due to said issues. She was talking about how her medical difficulties have brought her down to thinking so negatively all the time and how she wanted to change that. I can completely relate to what she is going through and she has inspired me to try to change this for myself. So in honor of Posy and to attempt to help myself, I'm going to try to focus on some good things.
It snowed today, to me that is a good thing as I'm just not ready for spring.
Yes, my garden is white again, and really I'm okay with that right now. I worry that until I get my health issue under control, I won't be able to do any work in the gardens. So bring on the snow! :)
I had my sleep study last week and let me tell you, it was interesting. All these wires and goop and crap hooked up to me. Then halfway through the night they came in and put a sleep mask on me for the CPAP. I've not received the results yet, but I go back to the neurologist on Monday and am hopeful he will have the results by then.
So, I can't think of much else to write, plus I'm a bit nauseous again. Thank you for your kind comments, they mean so much to me.
