Question for the gardeners...

Help! What is wrong with my eggplants? I don't have a photo, but I can describe them. I was expecting them to be the long fat eggplants, but these are more of a large egg. They are turning purple, but now are turning a yellowish color. Have I waited too long to pick them?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Is it yellow or more bronzish? If they are bronzish-colored, then yes, you have waited too long to pick them.

If it is yellow..there is a virus like that. It is caused by insects & you should destroy all the plants that have it. Theoretically, your other plants will then be safe. YOu should do a Google search about this.

Like with many other plants, if the leaves turn yellow, you have spider mites.

I have never grown eggplants but I have read about it....in anticipation of growning eggplants. I hope that you are able to save some of them.
